A Rose is a Rose

A Rose Is a Rose ~ When I was a little girl, every Mother’s Day, my mom would go out into the yard and cut a rose from our annual rose bush. She would pin one onto my dress and one onto her dress. It was tradition. When we went to church, almost all the women would have roses on their dresses. A red rose would mean your mother was still living. A white rose would mean your mother had passed. As my daughters (3) grew up, I carried on that tradition. Whenever I see a rose bush in bloom around Mother’s Day, I think of this wonderful tradition.
