Reflections

Reflections - Sometimes a river can be as smooth as glass, reflecting everything around it. The air is calm and the only sounds you hear are the birds in the trees and the frogs near the water. This reference photo is of the bridge at Old Stone Fort State Park in Manchester, Tennessee. Currently, the Tennessee Department of Conservation and Environment is trying to tear this bridge down and build a concrete bridge in its place. The citizens are petitioning the state to save this bridge. It was built in 1906 and is a treasure to the community. To tear this bridge down will disrupt the wildlife and the landscape. The water will be contaminated with debris. It will not have this clear, serene reflection for a long time as it will take a few years to build another bridge. A concrete bridge will just not be the same. If you feel moved to save the bridge, please go to the Facebook page “Save the Old Stone Fort Bridge” and sign the petition.
